Richard Spitzenberger, CPA

Richard Spitzenberger CPA has over 30 years practicing public accounting. After graduating from Hofstra University in 1985 he gained valuable experience in auditing and taxation at a regional CPA firm. The attention to detail and need to document everything as an auditor had a natural progression to tax preparation and planning.

He prides himself on being knowledgeable in tax laws throughout the country in order to serve his clientele when their businesses expand. His specialty is being presented with complicated or challenging business matters and providing solutions. He works by the motto "the more complicated the better."

When his clients move out of New York State they still remain loyal to Richard's firm for their tax preparation. The majority of his clients have been referred through word of mouth. Richard also has established relationships with bankers and bonding professionals. His practice has grown to include tax preparation and accounting services throughout the east coast and as far west as California.

Richard provides complete business services that include accounting, bookkeeping, compliance (payroll tax, sales tax, and highway use tax), and of course the all-important income tax planning and preparation. His client base includes personal returns and businesses ranging from retail to professionals, various contractors and all aspects of real estate.

In his spare time Richard is an avid sailor and has been racing sailboats for over 35 years. For the past 5 years, he has participated in the American Cancer Society Regatta and has helped raise over $10,000 annually. Richard is also a member of US Coast Guard Auxiliary. Over the past 12 years he has held several positions including Flotilla Commander, Vice Flotilla Commander, boat crew and Treasurer.

Richard is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs and LeTip of Sound Beach New York.
